Health Minister takes notice of negligence by doctors

Islamabad: Minister for Health Abdul Qadir Patel taking notice on news floating on social media regarding negligence of doctors at Independent University Hospital Faisalabad directed PMDC to probe into matter immediately. Following directions from Minister Medical and Dental Council has launched an investigation into an alleged case of negligence by doctors in Independent University Hospital Faisalabad.

Upon receiving complaint, President PMDC promptly initiated an inquiry to investigate reported incident thoroughly. Objective of investigation is to ascertain facts surrounding incidence, evaluate extent of negligence involved and take appropriate action in accordance with law and regulations. President directed Acting Registrar to write letter to concerned MS of hospital. Acting Registrar PMDC emphasised gravity of situation and wrote to Independent University Hospital Faisalabad to furnish comprehensive report within 3 days regarding wrong conduct of surgery of patient suffering from gall bladder illness along with another patient due for surgery for her knee. PMDC intends to conduct an impartial investigation, considering all available evidence and testimony from involved parties.

PMDC is deeply concerned about reported incident and is committed to upholding highest standards of patient care and safety.
