JI leader Hafiz Naeem says PPP ‘afraid’ of LG polls

KARACHI: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman claimed Pakistan Peoples’ Party is afraid of LG polls. Expressing his views at private TC channel Hafiz Naeem said, “Why is PPP afraid of LG polls if it claims to be a democratic party”.

He termed postponement of LG polls an unfortunate act. Election Commission of Pakistan announced to postponement of scheduled LG polls in Karachi. He accused ECP of unlawfully favouring PPP led Sindh government. He said, “If Chief Election Commissioner cannot hold elections then he should resign.”

Lambasting at PPP and MQM-P leadership, JI leader said both parties are ruling province since 1988 but people of Karachi are deprived of their basic rights. Earlier, Jamaat-i-Islami Hafiz Naeem announced to move Supreme Court against postponement of Local Government elections in Karachi. Jamaat-i-Islami leader said that party would launch a big movement for betterment of Karachi.
