Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that nobody had offered a deal to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Lashing out at the political opponents, Asif said, “The kind of language the opposition has used yesterday heralded its [opposition’s] non-seriousness in making the negotiations with the government successful.” He responded to one of the PTI demands to move forward talks, saying, “How can we [the government] interfere with the judicial investigation? The cases of the PTI leaders had been underway in the courts.” “When it comes to negotiations, it means that both the parties end lashing out at each other,” he added. Few days back, Asif dismissed reports claiming pressure for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan stressing that no offer had been made by the government to shift Khan to his Bani Gala residence or any other location. “There is no truth in PTI’s assertion that the government has offered to move Imran Khan to Bani Gala or any other place. These claims are being made by PTI themselves,” the minister said.
