KARACHI: Business magnate and politician Irfan Memon who often remains in limelight because of his versatile and extrovert persona, recently in exclusive talks with Daily National Courier newspaper revealed that he desires to see a strong and prosperous Pakistan where equity, equality, economic stability will reign sans any discrimination in near future.

Irfan Memon while stressing light on the supreme role of business community for the development of Pakistan said that the way the daring soldiers of Pakistan Army are fervently rendering countless sacrifices for the motherland by protecting country’s border, sovereignty, and the people from evil and nefarious designs of enemies, in the same way businessman and industrialist acts as a ‘soldiers of country’s economy’.

Business community plays a pivotal role in trying their level best through collective and coordinated efforts of all the concerned stakeholders to promote ease of doing business, bringing massive foreign investments in the country to create a pool of employment opportunities and by promoting exports across the board. Memon also said that it is the business community who always helped Pakistan in times of difficulties and in the present time also irrespective of caste, colour and creed, Pakistani businessmen are deeply engrossed in formulating effective strategies to get rid of the existing financial and economic devastation. Whereas, they also do not stay back in social and welfare work under the umbrella of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Talking to this scribe, Irfan Memon added that “in today’s era our economy is in doldrums, but I am much optimistic that this difficult period will get over soon and Pakistan will become much stronger economically, beyond one’s imagination in the years ahead.” He also urged the government to create a business-friendly culture in Pakistan and to assist and negotiate with the key business leaders before taking any decision which is directly associated with the country’s economy. Irfan further said ‘being patriotic Pakistani, I will leave no stone unturned in revitalizing the economy of my country and this darkest tenure in the history of Pakistan will end soon and shine forever.’ Memon said that it is the need of the hour to now give our best to Pakistan as Pakistan has given us everything but unfortunately we lack to respond back in the same manner.

With complete hope, Irfan Memon said that time will come when people abroad will desire to come to Pakistan for setting up businesses and industries, students will come from foreign countries to receive quality education in Pakistan and many such unexpected dreams will become reality.
