PM Shehbaz apprises Cabinet of his visits to KSA, Qatar

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif apprised Cabinet members of outcome of his recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, terming them as ‘successful and productive’.

Addressing Cabinet’s meeting, said that he held very productive and useful consultations with leadership of KSA and Qatar wherein different subjects like solar energy, mines, minerals and IT sectors were thoroughly discussed during bilateral meetings.

He revealed that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has requested millions of skilled workers from Pakistan’s Information Technology sector to support kingdom’s expanding technological infrastructure.

He said delegation of Qatar Investment Authority would soon visit Pakistan as Qatar had announced to invest $ 3 billion in Pakistan, adding Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during meeting, had told him that there was immense potential of IT trained people and asked him to send skilled people from Pakistan to Kingdom as they required it.

Amir of Qatar also hinted at setting up an IT park in Pakistan, he added. He said whereas Pakistan and Azerbaijan had also agreed to enhance bilateral investment to $ 2 billion in diverse areas.

He said understanding between two countries was reached during visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in shape of signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding.
