ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian people’s just struggle for self-determination, freedom, and justice.

The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamadallah Zaid, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.

In his discussion, PM Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned Israel’s genocidal actions against innocent Palestinians, particularly since October 7, 2023. He expressed deep concern over the worsening situation, which has led to over 43,000 Palestinian deaths and left more than 105,000 others injured.

The prime minister emphasized the lack of global accountability for Israel’s actions, stating his deep disappointment with the international community’s failure to hold Israel responsible for its actions.

PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, alongside the unhindered flow of humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians suffering in the occupied territories.

He assured the Palestinian Ambassador that the entire Pakistani nation stands united in its solidarity with the Palestinian people and that Pakistan will continue to support them in every possible way.

The prime minister further stressed the importance of a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue, advocating for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders and the creation of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in line with relevant United Nations resolutions.

Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamadallah Zaid expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. He thanked the prime minister for not only offering political and diplomatic backing but also for providing humanitarian assistance and scholarships to Palestinian medical students, enabling them to complete their studies in Pakistan.

The prime minister extended his best wishes to Ambassador Zaid for a successful tenure in Pakistan and assured him of Pakistan’s full support in his efforts to further strengthen bilateral ties and promote the Palestinian cause on the international stage.
