KARACHI: Police claimed to have killed bandit and arrested one other in injured condition in an encounter in Defence. According to police, encounter took place between bandits and Shaheen Force team in Phase-II of Defence and robbers looting citizens when police officials rushed to street opened fire. In crossfire, bandit Ali Akbar was killed while his accomplice got arrested in injured condition.

Police also claimed to have recovered five stolen mobile phones from dacoits. Polce said that six cases were registered against Ali Akbar in Defence, Gizri and Darakhshan Police Station.

Detained bandit was identified as Hussain Shah, who was booked in five cases at police stations in Orangi Town, Site A, Darakhshan and Yusuf Plaza. Further investigation was underway, police said.
