Public service projects should be completed in stipulated time: DC Central Taha

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem met with heads of all departments of Central Municipality in special meeting with purpose of discussing ongoing municipal services in District and works done for welfare of people.

Addressing municipal officers he said that ongoing welfare projects including library facilities in district is aimed to provide more opportunities for youth to study, play and perform in other fields in 24-hour library. While regular and timely attendance of officers and staff in all departments should be made possible, he added.

Those employees who remain absent despite repeated warnings should be stopped from paying their salaries and be given show-cause notices and other legal action as per employment laws.

He said that majority of people look to local bodies for solution of their civic and social issues, which should not be neglected in any case. He instructed to continue special operation with iron hands. While instructing to take immediate steps on receiving information of illegal encroachment from any area in district, he said that an FIR should be filed against accused in concerned police station without any delay. All municipal officers present and informed Deputy Commissioner regarding performance of their respective departments, services and completion of ongoing projects. Taha reiterated his commitment not to waste time for providing civic facilities to area dwellers.
