KARACHI: Saylani Welfare International Trust has dispatched second consignment of essential relief materials to affected people and families of Gaza from Istanbul to Palestine.

In first phase, container full of relief materials has reached Port of Mersin, from where it will be transported by voyage to Egypt and from there it will reach Gaza by land.

In second phase, 2,000 packets of relief materials have been dispatched in 40-foot container. Prepared food has been sent in these relief boxes.

Founder and Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooq Qadri has thanked Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and volunteers of Turkey’s welfare organisation ‘Afaad’ for their goodwill gesture.

This is the third phase of Selani’s aid for Gaza’s Muslims. Earlier, one container has reached Gaza from Pakistan and the other from Turkey. The aid will be delivered to Gaza via Egypt through the port of Mersin in Turkey. Earlier, 1,000 packets have been dispatched in a 20-foot container from The Sailani Regional Office Istanbul. He said that departure of relief goods depends on availability of space for ship in Port. Only after receiving message from there, next shipment of aid will be sent from Istanbul. As soon as space is available at Port, thousands of more aid packets will be prepared and sent to Gaza.

According to Maulana Bashir Farooq, Saylani International is determined to continue helping oppressed and war-affected Muslims of Gaza. Delivery of relief activities is subject to logistical constraints.
