Sindh govt, Oxford University to launch Master’s programme

KARACHI: Sindh government in collaboration with Oxford University would launch Master’s degree programme for teachers across province. According to details, development was announced by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah while addressing an International Teachers Conference here.

Addressing conference, Sardar Ali Shah claimed that government has addressed shortage of teachers in Sindh government schools, adding that training of newly recruited was underway.

He said that government in collaboration with Oxford University decided to launch Master’s degree programme, adding that another programme to make Teachers Training Institute more efficient has been launched. Earlier in January, Sindh Education Department  decided to sack 40 ghost teachers across province.

According to Sindh Education Department, 40 teachers including staff and clerical department employees were sacked including 17 junior school teachers, 8 higher school teachers, 4 guards, a junior clerk and a lane assistant.
