US calls for fair, timely elections in Pakistan

WASHINGTON: US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said United States calls for free, fair, transparent and timely elections in Pakistan.

Spokesperson of US State Department Matthew Miller responded to question regarding elections in Pakistan saying that election laws should be implemented to ensure timely polls in country.

He further said that human rights, and basic freedom under Constitution of Pakistan should be ensured.

On September 12, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said United States does not support any political party in Pakistan.

Mathew Miller said that he repeatedly cleared stance of US on general election in Pakistan saying that US does not support any political party in Pakistan. He said US supports reforms for economic stability of Pakistan.

US Ambassador, Donald Blome assured Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja of his country's support for conducting fair, free and transparent elections in Pakistan.
