ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari took oath as 14th President. Oath-taking ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr here where Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa administered oath to newly-elected President.

Swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, all three service Chiefs and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

Moreover, chief ministers, governors, foreign diplomats, Speaker and Deputy Speaker NA, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other dignitaries attended ceremony. COAS Gen Munir briefly met Nawaz and Bilawal at Zardar’s inaugural ceremony CJP Isa also held conversation with Bilawal in President House’s lobby after oath-taking ceremony concluded.

Meanwhile, President of Iran Syed Ebrahim Raeesi in message congratulated Asif Ali Zardari on his election as President. President Raeesi expressed hope that during his presidency, relations between two countries, having historical, cultural and religious history, will be more developed and deepened than before.

As always, and especially in new era, Islamic Republic of Iran declares its readiness to expand relations with Islamic Republic of Pakistan, he said. President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Asif Zardari on his election as President.

He expressed his best wishes to Asif Ali Zardari. We have deep brotherly relations with Pakistan in various fields,” Rajab Tayyab Erdogan said and hoped that relations would be more stable for prosperity of people of Pakistan and Turkiye.
