KARACHI: Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari hinted at tendering resignation and quitting ministries if Centre fails to fulfil its promises regarding digital census and assistance to flood victims.

Bilawal Bhutto addressing an event here expressed concerns over unfulfillment of promises by Centre regarding digital census and assistance to flood affectees. He said that it would be difficult for them to retain ministries if promises are not fulfilled. Regarding census, Bilawal said that announcement of digital census was not resolution of issues at time of elections. He added that elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being held on old census.

PPP Chairman said that Sindh government will not support this kind of census if objections of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah are not heard. He said that province gets its rights on basis of census.

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto inaugurated Seed `Subsidy Programme: Reimbursement for wheat Seed’ by pressing key of computer and transferred Rs 8.39 billion to Benazir Income Support Programme which started disbursing an amount of Rs 5,000 per acre to small growers holding agricultural land up to 12 acres. Programme was organised by agriculture department in collaboration with BISP here at Banquet Hall and was attended by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, MPA Faryal Talpur, former Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh PPP President Nisar Khuhro, Minister Shazia Mari and Advisor to CM Manzoor Wassan, ministers, MPAs and MNAs.   He highlighted Sindh was only province that was selling 40 kg sugarcane at Rs 4,000 and when Pakistan Peoples’ Party came into power, exports volume of Pakistan was significantly low but former President Asif Ali Zardari focused lot on agricultural sector to provide relief to farmers.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto also voice for farmers and said that small farmers would be provided relief through Benazir Income Support Porgramme while mentioning government should fulfill its pledges with flood victims.
