Byram D Avari breathed his last in Karachi after protracted illness

KARACHI: Prominent businessman owner of a well-know hospitality industry Byram D. Avari passed away in Karachi after prolonged illness. According to details, prominent businessman Byram D. Avari passed away at age of 81. Businessperson's last rites will be performed on Monday afternoon. Family sources told that Byram was suffering from prolonged illness. It is pertinent to mention here that Awari had won Asian Games gold medal in sailing events twice.

His son Xerxes also represented Pakistan in sailing competitions.

The deceased is survived by a wife and three children, including two sons and a daughter.

In a statement, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed his grief over the death of the renowned businessman. The services of late Byram D Avari will always be remembered, he said.

CM Murad also lauded his services to the Parsi community.
