Court dismisses interim bail plea of Ch Pervez Elahi in corruption case

LAHORE: Anti-Corruption Court dismissed interim bail plea of former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in alleged corruption in development projects case. Interim bail plea came up for hearing before Judge Ali Raza of Anti-Corruption Court. Chaudhry Pervez Elahi did not appear before court on expiry of interim bail period. Counsel for Pervez Elahi filed exemption plea from attendance in court on medical grounds. Counsel told the court Pervez Elahi is feeling pain in chest, therefore, he cannot appear. Prosecution while giving arguments said medical certificate is fake. Court remarked show reports I just give decision.

Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court while directing to submit medical report in court immediately adjourned hearing for some time. Exemption plea of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was accepted on earlier hearing too. On resumption of hearing court rejected exemption plea.

Court announced order to dismiss interim bail plea of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi being not persuaded.
