DRAP formulates CRD requirements for new pharmaceutical companies

ISLAMABAD: Senate body on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination was informed that new requirements of Common Technical Documents (CTD) for new medicine manufacturing companies has been formulated in light of World Health Organisation guidelines.

Senator Sardar Muhammad Shafiq Tareen questioned as to whether new requirements will be applied only on new medicine industry or on old ones. Officials of Drugs Regulatory Authority informed that new requirements will be implemented retrospectively. Committee disposed of matter after detailed deliberation.

Meeting of Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services Regulations and Coordination headed by Senator Dr. Muhammad Humayun Mohmand.

‘Prime University of Nursing Sciences Technology Islamabad Bill, 2022’ moved by Senator Naseebullah Bazai came under discussion. Chair deferred matter as University failed submitting requisite documentation with HEC.

Body also discussed ‘Pakistan Pharmacy (Amendment) Bill, 2022’ moved by Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan who apprised almost all reservations of doctors and pharmacists have been redressed. Chair deferred matter till next meeting.

Senators attended meeting were Prof. Dr. Mehr Taj Roghani, Muhammad Shafiq Tareen, Naseebullah Bazai, Rubina Khalid, Sana Jamali and Mushtaq Ahmed Khan.

Secretary NHSRC Nasir-ud-din Mashood Ahmad and concerned officers were in attendance.
