FM Bilawal reiterates resolve to foster ties with US

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome reiterated their commitment to promote bilateral relations between two countries.

In meeting with Blome Bilawal Bhutto highlighted issues facing country after floods. Bilawal Bhutto and Blome emphasised US cooperation with Pakistan in post-flood reconstruction. Two top officials also emphasised importance of regional development. In connection with Health Dialogue, Bilawal Bhutto welcomed Health Dialogue in June.

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto is travelling this afternoon to Jordan and Iraq, state-run APP quoted Foreign Office as saying. In first leg of visit, he will travel to Jordan to attend royal wedding at invitation of Royal family of Jordan, statement added. Jordan is gearing up for Crown Prince Hussein’s wedding, an event already greeted with fireworks, concerts and social media frenzy in usually quiet desert kingdom.

From Jordan, FO said that Bilawal travel to Iraq from June 5-7. During visit, he will meet Iraqi leadership and hold detailed meetings with his counterpart. Important agreements will also be signed during visit read communique.

Bilawal is undertaking this visit at invitation of deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Iraq, Dr Fuad Hussein.
