Govt taking tangible steps to strengthen country’s economy: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that government is taking tangible and necessary steps to strengthen economy and prioritising reduction in unnecessary imports by enhancing exports.

PM said that incumbent government also faced issues of mismanagement of previous government, adding still in face of such issues, government was committed to improving country’s economy with strenuous efforts.

Talking to delegation of Rothschild and Co, one of world’s largest independent financial advisory groups that called on him prime minister mentioned that Pakistan faced natural calamity in shape of recent floods spurred by worst climate changes.

Delegation termed economic situation in Pakistan as stable and said that its talented manpower was its real strength. Present government was taking steps to take economy on right path, they observed.

They commended Pakistan Stock Exchange as among best-performing stocks in region.

Pakistan had also created awareness, in an effective manner about impacts of climate changes at global level, they said. Minister of State for Finance Dr Ayesha Ghous Pasha and other relevant officials attended meeting.
