RAWALPINDI: Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has wrapped up petition related to cancellation of arrest warrants of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.  DG Anti-Corruption Punjab said we don’t want to arrest Rana Sanaullah. Name cannot be removed from case when challan is filed.

Judge remarked that institutions have become political instrument. One comes and files case and second comes and abolishes case.  Court while addressing DG Anti-Corruption remarked was FIR direct on Rana Sanaullah or it was on source report. DG Nadim Sarwar told court FIR was filed on source report.  Court inquired that who processed this source report and also quoted verdict in Moonis Elahi’s case by High Court as a reference, we have to follow it, court added. The court expressed its displeasure on DG Anti-Corruption. Judge stated that DG Anti-Corruption would have known if Anti-Corruption had processed notice. How can you stay as DG.

Expressing annoyance on DG court remarked your institution has become political tool. Court remarked “You obtained arrest warrants of Rana through false statement. Tell court if you want to arrest Sanaullah or otherwise.”  Court remarked petitioner can file his acquittal plea for section 249-A in trial court.
