‘MQM-P Convener gives go-ahead to workers for LG polls preparations’

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui directed MQM workers to start preparations for upcoming Local Government (LG) polls in their respective areas. Addressing general workers' convention Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui asked MQM-P activists to commence election preparations.

He added that party workers should contact all citizens for revival of MQM-P regardless of waiting for elections. He said that MQM-P will take part in electoral process if fair and free elections are held. He asked workers not to be afraid and pull their socks up for decisive day.

Siddiqui claimed that status of assembly was lost in absence of MQM-P. Siddiqui said that people of Karachi are true owners of metropolis but not election commission. He added that decision for election will be taken by its citizens but not province or centre.

He asked Election Commission of Pakistan to rectify delimitation. He said that elections could not be held without consent of MQM-P. The party further said that its workers and supporters across Sindh were busy preparing for Local Body polls.
