Pakistan calls for enhanced int’l cooperation to achieve SDGs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has called for enhanced international cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals and climate goals. Delivering statement at Third South Summit of Group of 77 and China, in Kampala, Uganda, Additional Foreign Secretary Syed Haider Shah called upon developed countries to deliver on their historical commitments and support Global South in achieving SDGs.

Syed Haider Shah expressed support for UN Secretary General’s call for provision of adequate financial resources for recently operationalised Loss and Damage fund. He underlined need for G-77 and China to collectively work for more just and equitable international order and reform of the international financial architecture, to make it more representative and responsive to needs and priorities of developing countries.

Additional Foreign Secretary underscored need for unity and solidarity among developing countries to address common contemporary challenges to global peace and development.
