LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that low income poor people will be given subsidy of Rs 50 per liter on fuel under petroleum relief package.

Chairing review meeting on relief package here, he said that petroleum relief will be given to low income consumers who have motorcycles, rickshaws, 800 cc cars and other small cars. He said programme of petroleum subsidy would be started soon and comprehensive strategy would be formed with cooperation of relevant departments for effective implementation of subsidy programme.

He said motorcycles, rickshaws and small cars were used by low income people and petroleum subsidy would give relief to poor. Government was making effort for all possible help to poor people despite its economic difficulties, he added. Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik briefed about strategy for providing petroleum subsidy to low-income segment of society. Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Advisor to PM Ahad Cheema Special Assistant to PM Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Finance, Secretary Petroleum and high-ranking officials attended meeting.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Pakistan Cricket Board and provincial governments of Sindh and Punjab for successful organisation of eighth edition of Pakistan Super League. In tweet, he called final match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans Nail-biting finish to 8th edition of PSL.

My appreciation is due to Chairman PCB, CMs of Sindh and Punjab, provincial administrations, police and participating teams for making event huge success. Spectators kept it animated with their energy and zeal, he wrote.
