PPP, ANP call for dialogue to break political impasse

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples’ Party and Awami National Party emphasised need for dialogue among political parties to tackle ongoing constitutional and political crisis in country. PPP delegation led by Senator Yousuf Raza Gillani approached ANP for dialogue among political parties to tackle ongoing crisis in country.

Talking to journalists, Yousuf Raza Gillani said that ANP had always rendered sacrifices for restoration of democracy and rule of law in country. He said basic purpose of Constitution was that all institutions would exercise their powers within their constitutional domain. “PPP wants to make conducive environment for dialogue among political parties as all problems being faced by county will be addressed through dialogue process,” he added.

Yousuf Gillani said masses were looking to political parties in current political and economic situation prevailing in country. ANP Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain said, “It was good step by PPP and all political parties should it as country could no longer afford unrest and chaos. It all required democratic environment, for which dialogue was mandatory, he said. “Politicians need to end ambience of uncertainty and for this they should sit and work together for supremacy of Constitution, Parliament and other institutions,” he added.
