PPP writes letter to ECP for mayor, deputy mayors’ election

KARACHI: Following culmination of LG polls in Sindh, Sindh government urged Election Commission of Pakistan for immediate election of mayors and deputy mayors.

In letter penned to Election Commission of Pakistan, PPP-led Sindh government has said that process of LG elections in province has been completed. “Sindh government wants immediate election of mayors and deputy mayors.” ECP has been urged to take steps in this regard under Article 140A, letter added.

Earlier in day, Election Commission of Pakistan released the party position after re-poll results in 15 districts of Sindh during LG polls.
