President Asif felicitates Christian community on Easter

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari felicitated Christian community on Easter and acknowledged community members’ contributions for development of Pakistan.

In his message, President Zardari said that Constitution of Pakistan guaranteed constitutional rights to all religious communities. He said that all communities enjoyed religious, political, social and economic rights in Pakistan.

“Christian community is precious asset of Pakistan,” President Secretariat Press Wing said, adding that Easter was an occasion that brought message of hope, affection and prosperity. Appreciating Christian community’s contributions for national progress, he further observed, “Christian community has always played their role in progress and prosperity of country.”

Zardari reaffirmed that Pakistan was committed to protection of rights of all communities and would ensure all steps for their prosperity. For country’s progress and prosperity, entire nation including minorities would have to collectively work together, he added.
