KARACHI: Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood said that Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) will be run on public-private partnership basis.

Talking to media, he said that public-private partnership of PSM will be finalised soon. Move is part of federal government’s intention to expedite process of PSM’s privatisation and meet IMF conditions for next tranche of loans.

Minister said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party will take care of PSM employees. He said that country’s poor economic condition was affecting import industries badly. These industries are facing hardships in opening their LCs.

Murtaza was optimistic that award of relief by State Bank of Pakistan will solve issues of these industries. He added that government was introducing solar panels policy. Minister said that companies manufacturing solar panels will be encouraged and given concessions.
