KARACHI: Pakistan Taekwondo Federation is honored to host the “Combaxx 4th Asian Open International Taekwondo Championship (G2)” in Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad from November 1 to 4 2022.

Addressing a press conference,  Pakistan Taekwondo Federation President Col (retd) Waseem Ahmed Janjua said that the finest athletes (male/female) belonging to various countries from across the globe have arrived at Islamabad’s Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. Flanked by PTF CEO, Omar Saeed, International delegates and PTF officials, he said that this event is being organized first time in the history of Pakistan.

It is great pleasure to update you that no sports in Pakistan have brought the country which are coming here in regards to numbers as well as participation of Foreign and Pakistani Officials / Athletes. More than 100 Volunteers, Technical officials, National Demonstration Team are also part of this competition, Mr Janjua said, adding,  “More than 600 officials and athletes are also part of this mega event.

The number of International Officials / athletes is more than 200. Technical delegate from Lebanon, Mr Denial and Referee Chairman Mr Sharam from Iran along with 30 International Referees (Male/Female) are there to conduct this prestigious championship.

The other International referees and Member Supervisory Board (Male / Female) are from Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan, Iran, Nepal, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Palestine and Pakistan. He informed the mediamen that the bid of said event was approved in WT General Council Meeting on 23 Jun 2022 this year and we have unique honour to have this championship in year 2023 again, Inshallah which includes Senior Khyrougi and Poomsae Events. Combaxx Sports, World Taekwondo Federation, Pakistan Sports Board and Ministry of IPC are the one who had made this happen.  At this platform I am taking opportunity to say special Thanks to Mr Omer Saeed, CEO Pakistan Taekwondo Federation and President SATA for his whole hearted support to me as well as to PTF.

I will also say to Thanks to Federal Minister Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari for his continuous support even in this difficult time the country going through.
