Russian Center for Science, Culture hosts celebratory event marking end of World War II

Karachi: Russian Centre for Science and Culture in collaboration with Federal Urdu University organised special event commemorating anniversary of end of Second World War in Europe. Students, faculty members and students of Department of International Relations FUUAST attended event.

Event commenced with screening of documentary film ‘Allies’ from series ‘Unknown War,’ showcasing collaborative efforts of USSR and USA during World War II.

Andrey Fedorov Consul General of Russia shed light on Russia’s role in war and its contributions to establishment of global institutions aimed at maintaining peace and stability.

During interactive session, students and faculty members actively engaged with Fedorov, posing questions on Russia’s role in World War II and its significance in shaping post-war international order. Participants showed particular interest in understanding Russia’s perspective on key historical events and its stance on contemporary global issues. Discussion touched upon formation of international institutions such as United Nations and role they play in addressing modern-day challenges.

Students actively participated in discussion session and contributed insightful questions, demonstrating keen interest in understanding Russia’s historical and contemporary role in international affairs.
