KARACHI: Shershah police team seems to be very active in eradicating the menace of street crimes under the strong command and direction of SSP Keamari Arif Aslam Rao.

Recently, the police patrolling teams near Paracha graveyard intercepted the armed assailants. During the exchange of fire between the cops and the criminals, police have arrested one culprit named Zahid in an injured condition while his accomplice escaped. According to details given by SSP Keamari Mohammad Arif Aslam Rao, the police patrolling team had earlier received information regarding the presence of the suspected armed assailants in the precincts of Paracha graveyard, following which, the moment cops reached the place of the suspected criminals, the criminals opened indiscriminate firing on the police team.    The police told this scribe that a 30-bore pistol along with bullets and a stolen motorcycle was recovered from the possession of the alleged criminal.

Later, the injured accused was shifted to the hospital and further investigation is underway. With an intent to mitigate the level of criminal activities in the metropolis, Karachi police have increased the patrolling in different areas while close monitoring of criminal activities is also continuing at length.
