QUETTA: At least six coal miners were killed in gas explosion in Shahrag coal field of Harnai district, police said. As per rescue officials, at least six labourers were trapped in coal mine that collapsed after an explosion in Harnai district. According to Levies officials, as soon as incident was reported, rescue and district administration rushed to spot to initiate rescue operation.

Levies officials said that accident took place in mine of contractor Haji Dilawar Khan in Shahrg Tarkh Tung, where coal was being extracted. Labourers were identified as Naseeb Gul, Sarfraz, Najeebullah, Rehman Ullah, Ghani Rehman and Bacha Khan.

All of them belong to Shangla area of Swat. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo taking notice of incident ordered an investigation into tragic incident. Incident came as grim reminder of Orakzai mine blast, that claimed lives of nine labourers a few days ago.
