South Korean Ambassador acknowledges improvement in Pakistan’s economy

KARACHI: Ambassador Park Ki Jun of South Korea has recognized the significant progress made by Pakistan’s economy, stating that the country is successfully navigating its path towards economic recovery and sustainable growth.
This acknowledgment comes amidst a notable decrease in inflation and an increase in foreign exchange reserves in Pakistan. Ambassador Park expressed these views during an event organized in his honor by the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR). He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to capitalize on the economic and trade opportunities between Korea and Pakistan. During the first half of the current fiscal year, Pakistan’s trade with Korea witnessed a remarkable 27% increase.
Ambassador Park also mentioned that Korean citizens are eager to visit Pakistan’s tourist attractions, particularly in Lahore and Karachi. Nadira Panjwani, Chairperson of KCFR, highlighted Korea’s strong economy, ranking ninth globally in terms of economic stability, with foreign exchange reserves exceeding $400 billion. The event was attended by Korean investors, Pakistani businessmen, and prominent figures from various walks of life.
