Un-registered firm depriving employees of due employment rights under nose of regulators

Karachi: A UK-based firm working in 'human health activities' in UK opened an Information Technology sector in Karachi in 2022 without having giving any knowledge to Federal Board of Revenue nor they applied for registering their business with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan.
Without prescribed any by-laws and procedures Optimized Body and Mind Limited hired employees simply on appointment letters even they did not bother to pay salaries through banking system, which is sheer violation of business rules and of FBR codes.
This act of firm had dented many employees of privileges and salaries and one of their employees who joined them as Web Developer when tendered his resignation after giving notice period was refused of two-month salary. Even they restricted employee entering office to complete remaining days of notice-period.
Talking to Daily National Courier, the victim Ali Jan revealed on reaching office he was denied to enter and even when asked for dues, firm official Farhan Qureshi refused to pay dues. Under stress, Ali said, "I emailed my ordeal to FBR, FIA, Sindh Labour and Human Resource Department and complaint department UK government for taking notice on unjustified and illegal act of firm." Ali said he was staring all these entities for justice.
The victim Ali Jan also revealed that he has also served the legal notice to the organisation Optimized Body and Mind Ltd in lieu of recovery of his dues.
On other hand FBR concerned officials on Ali's complaint has stretches their muscles and started procedure to 'clamp' said firm on starting business with prior permission from relevant departments including them. He also registered his protest outside Karachi Press Club. "Unregistered firms without having any fear always inflict mental agony and financial burden on their employees and even national exchequer suffers a lot in term of taxes", Ali added.
