ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif alleged his predecessor and PTI Chairman Imran Khan of allegedly manipulating diplomatic cipher, which latter claims to be biggest evidence of an alleged foreign conspiracy to topple his government. “Thieves now want to malign national institutions to escape justice,” prime minister said in his statement.

Shehbaz Sharif, without naming his arch rival Imran Khan, accused him of ‘creating chaos within institutions’ and said that those who risked national security will be held accountable before law.

“Law is implemented without any biasness. Does being popular mean that you are above Constitution?” Shehbaz Sharif asked. Federal Cabinet okayed starting a high-level inquiry, days after an audio leak allegedly of ousted Pakistani premier Imran Khan and his key aides surfaced in which former ruling party leaders were discussing diplomatic cipher. Cabinet decided to take legal action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as top civil leaders termed issue as a matter of national security, which needs legal action.

Federal Investigators will start probe by forming a team of top officers, while officials from intelligence agencies will likely be included in investigation team.
