KARACHI: Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan Country Head Salman Corporation (Pvt) Ltd. received Climate Change Special Achievement Award Food and Beverages from President Dr Arif Alvi during Climate Change Conference and Award organised by Rotary International District 3271 at Bahria Auditorium here.

Sarfaraz Ahmed talking to ‘Daily National Courier’ said Climate Change impacts needs to be tackled through collective efforts of countries and major stakeholders. He expressed joy on recognition of Salman Corporation (Pvt).

President Dr Arif Alvi, during two-day conference on Climate Change held at Bahria Auditorium, emphasised urgent need to change attitudes to address growing impacts of climate change. He stressed that everyone must play their role in overcoming these effects. President pointed out that people often neglected to plant trees outside their homes, leading to unnecessary tree cutting. He stressed necessity for shift in attitudes, stating, “Attitudes need to be changed.”

He said that Pakistan put in lot of efforts and started working on 10 billion tsunami programme to protect its environment. He said that they had visited number of schools and planted saplings along with schoolchildren and made them aware of effects of climate change.
