‘FM Bilawal, KSA counterpart vow to deepen mutual ties’

ISLAMABAD: Reaffirming fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud reiterated their mutual commitment to further enhance and deepen bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.

Foreign Minister during telephonic conversation with his Saudi counterpart thanked leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for valuable flood relief assistance to Pakistan, Foreign Office spokesperson said.

Two foreign ministers also discussed recent developments in Afghanistan. They reaffirmed importance of guaranteeing women’s rights and their full and equal participation in all aspects of life.

They reiterated their support for security,stability and peace in Afghanistan and importance of international engagement for building more sustainable future for Afghan people. Bilawal Bhutto apprised his Saudi counterpart of upcoming International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan, which is being held in Geneva on January 9, 2023.

Saudi Foreign Minister conveyed Kingdom’s strong support for all initiatives aimed at strengthening and reinforcing Pakistan’s post-flood reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts.

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto said that idea of keeping journalism ‘off-screen’ for telling the truth cannot be democratic thinking. According to statement issued by Media Cell Bilawal House PPP Chairman expressed these views in his congratulatory message to newly-elected office-bearers of Lahore Press Club. Bilawal felicitated President Azam Chaudhry and General Secretary Abdul Majeed Sajid.

He hoped that newly-elected officials would work for well-being of journalist community and resolving their issues. PPP believes in civil rights and liberties and is foremost advocate and defender of freedom of expression and freedom of media in Pakistan.
