ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) became formally operational after issuance of gazette notification of PMDC Bill 2022 by National Assembly Secretariat.

Bill was approved by joint session of Parliament and it finally came in force after approval of President under Article 75 of Constitution.

Spokesperson of Council said that day to day affairs would be run under supervision of Ministry of Health until formation of new council. Spokesperson said that Council would start issuance of all type of certificates after necessary changes within one week.

Meanwhile, PMDC staff expressed pleasure and satisfaction over restoration of PMDC replacing PMC. It may be mentioned here that during PTI led government, Pakistan Medical Commission bill was approved by joint session of House and dozens of employees were given golden shake hands as per government’s policy.
