IG briefs ASPs team on function, using tech

Karachi: IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon met with delegation of ASPs trained under National Police Academy under leadership of Faizullah Koriju at Central Police Office. Giving point-to-point briefing to participants about units including CTD, SSU, SPU, CIA, Special Branch Sindh and IT, IG said that there are innovations in policing and investigation standards, requirement of present time and situation is to move forward with IT in policing process.

Delegation visited Command and Control and School of Finance and reviewed city's monitoring and various ongoing courses. Later, participants participated in question and answer session.

IG said that apart from Safe City project, Faisal Highway, ANPR and face recognition cameras have been installed at entry and exit points of all adjacent main roads and toll plazas in Sindh, while policing has been made effective using modern techniques thanks to software like Hotel Eye, Travel Eye, Search App, Point Me, PRMS, HRMS etc. And it is being made successful. He said that use of technology will prove to be an effective weapon of police in recent and future times. AIGs of Operations Sindh, Logistics Sindh and Welfare Sindh were present in meeting.
