Interim Minister Sindh Ahmad Shah says officials answerable to public

Karachi: Interim Minister Sindh for information, minority affairs and social protection, President Arts Council Karachi emphasised that no officer or minister should hesitate to face media, as all officials are answerable to public.

He stated, “One by one, performance of other departments will be presented to public.”

Ahmad Shah disclosed that as per concerted of caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, series of briefings ‘Minister should be present’ has commenced to inform public about departments’ performance through media channels.

This marks sixth briefing in series.Minister Mubeen Jamani, addressing conference, cautioned against making accusations without concrete evidence. He highlighted ongoing success of ministerial presentations and acknowledged mixed nature of feedback received.

He credited positive changes in Sindh Building Control Authority to Mubeen Jumani, asserting that officers and ministers should not fear facing media. He pledged to bring more departments forward for public scrutiny.

Regarding SBCA, he clarified that, despite concerns, significant improvements have been made under caretaker government. He urged media to refrain from baseless allegations and emphasised need for solid evidence.

He mentioned previous press conference addressing police department’s performance.

Director General SBCA, Muhammad Ishaq Khoro assured that authority is working diligently. He stated that illegal constructions are promptly addressed and efforts are made to demolish them.
