Karachi: Biennial election in Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (KIMCSL) took new dimension. Election held under Cooperative Society Karachi, supervised by Jahanzeb Baloch Administrator and Election Officer on May 7, 2023, in which candidates of Karimabad United Panel were declared elected unopposed unilaterally was challenged by Karimabad Action Committee in Vth Senior Civil Judge Special Court on May 8, 2023. Court directed Karimabad United Panel to submit I-10 application and Wakalatnama to pursue case.
Chairman Karimabad Action Panel Shabir Nathawni in talk with Daily National Courier said our endeavour in this direction only aims to stop follies and irregularities and work for welfare of Society without any prejudice.
Later in fresh development, Navid Ahmed Abbasi Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Karachi was informed by Muhammad Ali Damani Director Karimabad Action Committee that Jahanzeb Baloch in sheer abuse of his official powers organised election in unlawful manner and without taking us on board.
Damani informed Cooperative official that Jahanzeb allowed non-members and defaulters of Society taking part in election besides members who were eligible for contesting were not allowed taking part in election on May 7, 2023.
Meanwhile talking to Daily National Courier, Damani said, "Navid Ahmed Abbasi has asked our Society's bank in writing on May 23, 2023 to stop honouring cheques and pay-orders to be issued by KIMCSL except to entertain cheques of monthly salaries of staff, utility bills and petty cash expenses only". "If this request is violated official has legal right to take court action against bank and United Panel Committee as well."
