LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz thanked Pakistan Army for defending country’s nuclear programme.

Taking fresh jibe at PTI’s Chairman Imran Khan, she said, “World remembers those people who are not involved in vandalism and develop country. She praised PML-N supremo, saying, “Nawaz Sharif name can be emphasised in terms of development and defence of country.”  “When Nawaz Sharif decided to approve nuclear test, world mounted pressure on country. Even Bill Clinton asked Nawaz Sharif not to conduct nuclear test,” she added.

It was even said that country would face sanctions, but Nawaz Sharif faced all challenges. Despite facing political vendetta, PML-N did not split. Nawaz Sharif’s aides stand firmly with him’. She said that incidents of May 9 and May 28, 1998, show difference between leadership. “Every citizen gave thanks for day when country became nuclear power. On other hand every citizen bowed head in shame, during events that transpired on May 9,” she rued. “On May 9, Pakistan saw scenes that we only saw in Afghanistan or countries prone to terrorism,” she added.
