Merit should be given first priority in departmental affairs: IG Rafat Raja

Karachi: IG Sindh Rifaat Mukhtar Raja addressed Inspectors participating in D Course at Scout Auditorium. IG Sindh said that first step is to make police recruitments on basis of merit and ability and second step is training. All of you have completed departmental courses ABC and D. What did you learn in all these stages? Tell me how interrogation is done in court and if you all have ever worked with Muharr and Additional SHO then tell me what experience was gained, he asked.

On participants' questions, IG said that you people should take care of police department and make work on merit. For good name and good reputation in police department, it is necessary that you put your duty interests first and be true to yourself. Make servant of people in sense.

IG said that he learned office affairs including handling weapons, giving security duty, setting up barriers, chasing, arresting accused, registering cases, checking, patrolling.

He said that if every aspect and angle related to case, witness, crime scene, recovery, testimony and other aspects and angles are used in investigation tactics, then margin of defects would be equal to non-existent, keeping in mind law and its requirements, using modern and scientific methods.

IG Sindh said that all responsibility in matters like law and investigation is not work of police or lawyer only. Get informed because only informed and conscious citizens can create safe society.

He congratulated inspectors on successful completion of D course and expressed good wishes on behalf of himself and Sindh Police.

Additional IG Karachi, DIG Establishment DIG Admin, Zonal DIGs, District SSP Karachi and SSP Investigation were present.
