NAB served notices after Dar appears in AC

Islamabad: An Accountability Court (AC) served notices to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a petition of Minister Ishaq Dar against his arrest warrants in NAB reference and summoned on October 7. Minister Ishaq Dar appeared before AC-I Judge Muhammad Bashir and adopted stance that he wanted to return Pakistan despite illness but Imran Khan led previous government had cancelled his passport.

He said that all embassies of country in abroad were given directions for not issuance of passport to him. Now he was issued travel document thus he able to appear before this court, Dar said. Court summoned Ishaq Dar again on October 7, while serving notices to NAB. Court said that it would hear main reference and this petition together. Accountability court had suspended arrest warrants of Ishaq Dar till October 7. Court had stated that accused should be given one opportunity to surrender as purpose of arrest warrant was also to ensure his attendance. NAB had filed reference pertaining holding assets beyond known sources of income on September 8, 2017 while Ishaq Dar was indicted on September 27 of same year. Court however, declared him as absconder on December 11, 2017 due to his continuous disappearance from trial.
