Samson's Group launches plantation drive on 'International Day of Forests'

Karachi: Samson's Group of Companies launched 'Samson's Million Tree Plantation Drive 2024', in collaboration with CDA aiming to restore landscapes and combat climate change in Pakistan.

Inauguration was held on International Day of Forests at F-9 Park Islamabad, according to press release received here. Sami-ur-Rehman Chairman of Samson's Group of Companies, Barrister Mansoor Shah Chief of Corporate Affairs Samson's, Khazar Farhadov Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Qaiser Khattak, Director CDA, Yaqub Ali Deputy Inspector General Forests and Climate Change with other stakeholders inaugurated ceremony by planting tree on Jinnah Avenue Green Belt.

Mansoor Shah emphasised importance of tree planting and expressed gratitude to CDA and all stakeholders, reaffirming organisation's commitment to environmental sustainability. We aim to plant over 1 million trees across Pakistan. Already we have planted 4,000 trees in Phase 1 of our drive. It is national responsibility of every citizen to work towards greener Pakistan.

Qaiser Khattak praised initiative by Samson's Group of Companies, stressing role of trees in pollution elimination and importance of emphasising tree plantation in country.

Khazar Farhadov highlighted significance of initiatives like Samsons Plantation Drive in promoting environmental sustainability and combating climate change. He emphasised importance of collective action in preserving and restoring forest ecosystems for well-being of present and future generations.

Yaqub Ali emphasised crucial role of initiatives such as Samsons Plantation Drive in promoting environmental conservation and combatting climate change.

Event brought together stakeholders, environmentalists and community members to plant trees and reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding forests and biodiversity.
