US Congressional delegation discusses regional security with COAS

RAWALPINDI: Sheila Jackson Lee Congresswoman, Thomas Suozzi Congressman and Alexander N. Green Congressman United States (US) called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

During meeting, matters of mutual interests, regional security situation and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.

Visiting dignitaries expressed their grief over devastation caused by ongoing floods in Pakistan and offered sincere condolence to families of victims. They offered USA’s support to people of Pakistan at this hour of need. Dignitaries appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional stability and also pledged to play their role enhancing cooperation with Pakistan at levels.  COAS thanked for USA’s support and reiterated that assistance from our global partners shall be vital in rescue/rehabilitation of victims.

Earlier, US delegation also visited flood affected areas of Sindh, where they were briefed on relief and rescue operations.
