Ziauddin University celebrates 78th Independence Day and "Marka-e-Haq" with great enthusiasm

Ziauddin University celebrated 78th Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq with great zeal and enthusiasm across all campuses and sites, with active participation from all faculties, departments, faculty members, students, administration, and staff.
The central flag-hoisting ceremony was led by the Vice Chancellor of Ziauddin University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Zafar, where a large number of students sang the national anthem. On this occasion, students also presented national and patriotic songs, while a lively elocution competition further elevated the spirit of the celebration.
The Independence Day festivities included tree plantation drives, competitions of national and patriotic songs, and sports activities. A special plantation drive was also held in support of a “Green Pakistan.”
On this joyous occasion, the historic victory of Marka-e-Haq and the great sacrifices of the martyrs were remembered, and a renewed pledge of love and devotion to the homeland was made. A poster exhibition showcasing historic moments from the Pakistan Independence Movement and rare pictures of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was also showcased.
The ceremonies concluded with heartfelt prayers for the safety, prosperity, peace, and progress of Pakistan.
The celebrations across various campuses of Ziauddin University created an atmosphere of unity and patriotism, as students, faculty, and staff came together to honor the country’s rich history and achievements.
Special attention was given to engaging the younger generation in meaningful activities that not only celebrated Independence Day but also encouraged reflection on the values of freedom, resilience, and national solidarity. Cultural performances, including traditional dances and skits based on Pakistan’s historical milestones, received an overwhelming response from the audience.
In addition to the on-campus festivities, the university organized awareness sessions highlighting the importance of civic responsibility and the role of youth in nation-building. Speakers from different academic disciplines emphasized the need to work collectively towards a progressive and sustainable future for Pakistan. The “Green Pakistan” plantation drive saw enthusiastic volunteers planting hundreds of saplings, symbolizing hope and a commitment to environmental preservation.
Marka-e-Haq was commemorated with a solemn ceremony honoring the bravery and sacrifice of those who defended the nation with unwavering courage. Students recited poetry and delivered speeches paying tribute to the martyrs, reaffirming the importance of remembering their legacy. Faculty members also shared personal stories and historical accounts, inspiring students to embrace their role as future leaders of the country.
The day concluded with a vibrant display of fireworks and a collective singing of “Dil Dil Pakistan,” creating a wave of national pride among all present. Ziauddin University’s Independence Day celebrations stood as a testament to the institution’s dedication to fostering patriotism, unity, and social responsibility among its community.
The university administration expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers, and volunteers whose dedication made the Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq celebrations a resounding success.
