KARACHI: Chief Executive Dr Ziauddin Hospital Dr Ammad Hussain vivaciously took an audacious step to help the grief-stricken people in Sindh who are passing through dreadful conditions due to catastrophic floods and are left homeless with no medicines, food and shelter.

Dr Ammad’s initiative to establish flood relief camp in Thatta was fully backed by the Ziauddin University and the Ziauddin Patient Welfare Center in true spirit where through the collaborative efforts of the Outreach Department of the medical facility headed by Dr Imran Khan organized all the relief activities work in the rural area of the Sindh province.

A three-day campaign is in full swing at present where a team of 10 members are tirelessly working at the flood-relief camp in Hilaya area in Thatta alongwith the support of the staff of Ziauddin University and the Nursing College as well.

Dr Ziauddin Hospital flood-relief camp is consistently providing free medicines, paramedics support, and food supplies to the people who are lying in awful conditions soon after the wave of recent floods in the country has completely shattered the lives of the masses and the routine life of the locals in the rural areas.

Moreover, Pro-Chancellor Ziauddin University, Dr Nida Hussain also visited the relief camp in Hilaya and the various educational institutions in Thatta and the adjacent areas where the displaced and the flood-affectees are dwelling at present.

She offered  her all-out support to the people in Thatta alongwith the staff of the Ziauddin University who are continuously putting all their efforts to bring comfort to the sufferings of the heartbroken people. Dr Nida Hussain and her team spent the entire day in Thatta yesterday where she closely monitored all the activities relating to the flood-relief work at the camp and also sympathized with the people present in those relief camps.

It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Ziauddin Hospital is the first medical facility in Sindh to enter into Hilaya area in Thatta for setting up camp to assist the flood-affected people.

This is not the first time Dr Ziauddin Hospital and Ziauddin University has played its pivotal role in helping out the countrymen in times of natural calamities but in the past also, such practices were routine norm undertaken by the medical facility at various times.
