KARACHI: In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express, traveling through Quetta, has once again shaken the very fabric of Pakistan’s peace and security. The cowardly assault, aimed at disrupting the country’s stability, has been widely condemned by political leaders, civil society, and citizens alike.

Among those voicing strong condemnation is renowned political figure and former petroleum minister, Dr. Asim Hussain, who expressed his deep concern over the incident.

Dr. Asim Hussain, in a statement following the attack, emphasized the need for unity and resilience in the face of such heinous acts. He denounced the attack as a direct attempt to undermine the progress and peace efforts in Pakistan. "This cowardly attack is a reminder of the threats that continue to face our country. We will not be deterred by such acts of violence," said Dr. Hussain, as he extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those martyred in the attack. His words echo the sentiment of many who stand firm in the belief that Pakistan will rise above these challenges.

Dr Asim wrote on his official social media handle “Terrorists have once again attempted to disrupt the peace and stability of our beloved country. The cowardly attack on Jaffar Express is highly condemnable. We salute our brave security forces for their swift and courageous response in rescuing passengers. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the martyred. May Pakistan remain strong against all enemies of peace.”

The terrorist attack, which took place near the outskirts of Quetta, targeted a train carrying numerous passengers. Security forces, however, acted swiftly, preventing further loss of life and rescuing the passengers who were in immediate danger. Their quick and courageous actions have been widely lauded by the public, with many expressing gratitude for the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces in safeguarding innocent lives.

In addition to condemning the attack, Dr. Asim Hussain praised the bravery of the security personnel and highlighted the importance of continuous vigilance and collective action to ensure such acts of terror do not succeed.

"The people of Pakistan are strong, and together, we will overcome any challenges that arise," he said. Dr. Asim reaffirmed his unwavering faith in the strength of Pakistan’s people and its security forces. He urged all citizens to remain united and resolute in the face of adversity, as the country continues its battle against those who seek to destabilize peace and harmony.
