Karachi: On behalf of Friends of Karachi Houston, a beautiful ceremony was organized on August 24 in honor of Zahid Hussain, Pakistan's senior journalist and director of a private TV channel. The ceremony began with recitation of the Holy Quran.

Naat Khwan Imran Attari presented a soulful naat. President of Friends of Karachi Arif Azim, General Secretary Syed Firoz Ahmed gave a welcome address.  Senior journalist Zahid Hussain, former minister and senator Babar Khan Ghori, Riaz Hussain from peoples party - Houston Chamber of Commerce Founder Mr. Ashraf Abbasi, Community Leader Tasneem Siddiqui - Shahid Shani, Senior Journalist Afaq Khayali, based in America also expressed their views.

Tributes were paid to Zahid Hussain's fearless and principled journalism. The speakers said that Mr. Zahid Hussain has kept true journalism alive in the most difficult conditions of Pakistan. Ashar Jafari of True Power, Abid Naqvi, Musta Hussain of Maxstrive, local businessman Ahmed Bhai, Major Najmi, Shahab Alvi, Muzaffar Alam, Aamir Shabzwari, Atif Abdul Qadir, Nadeem Sheikh, Faiz Bangash, local journalists Afaq Khayali, Shamim Syed, Jameel Siddiqui.

Tariq Khan, Kamran Jilani Shrek, Khurram Zai, Arshad Iqbal and other local Pakistanis participated in large numbers at the event. Ssenior journalist Zahid Hussain thanked everyone for organizing such a memorable event in such a short time span.
