KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori yesterday said that the government and the Pakistan Army were on same page for promoting investment and economic stability of the country.

The Sindh governor made the remarks while addressing an event organised by the Pakistani diaspora in Luton, England.Speaking on the occasion, Governor Tessori said that overseas Pakistanis were playing a key role in the country’s development.

It is pertinent to mention here that remittances swelled 25.2% to $3 billion in January 2025, up from $2.397 billion recorded in the same period last year, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) confirmed earlier this month.  “We should not do politics with Pakistan.

It is our homeland,” he added. Advising the participants, the governor said: “Your parents and elders came from Pakistan. We should take care of its dignity.”Urging the overseas Pakistanis to invest in the country, he said the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) created numerous investment opportunities in the country.

“Overseas Pakistanis should take advantage of investment opportunities through SIFC,” he added. Lauding the security forces, the governor said: “Pakistan Army is the guarantor of Pakistan's security, stability and development.”

He said that supporting Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir was in the best interest of the country. He stressed the need for joint efforts for a brighter future of the country.
