ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) has accorded approval through a resolution to name Islamabad International Airport as Benazir International Airport. Resolution was tabled by PPP MNA Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmad Khan in NA.

It has been said in resolution that in opinion of this august house PTI led former government has changed name of Benazir Airport to Islamabad Airport due to bias and grudge.

Our nation cannot forget 1973 constitution and sacrifices of Bhutto family. Name of Islamabad Airport be restored in name of Benazir Bhutto International Airport without any delay so that we could pay tribute to martyrs.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf  had changed the airport’s name during its term along with the Benazir Income Support Program’s (BISP) name, which it had rebranded as Ehsaas Program.
